7 Traits of a Secure Woman
Have you heard of “breaking necks”?
This is the woman that walks by on the street or steps into a room and boom, all eyes on her, people break their necks following her as she passes by, gracefully, confidently, and joyfully.
It’s not always based on how she looks, not just her make-up, or her body type, it’s usually her energy. She has this vibe about her that exudes confidence and positivity and we can’t help but look her way.
There are many traits that contribute to a woman’s confidence but here are 7 major qualities a secure woman possesses.
1. She is Authentic and Will Not Conform
A secure woman spends plenty of time understanding herself. She is interested in how she acts, thinks, behaves and takes measures to constantly improve. After investing time on herself she cannot help but be authentically herself, because she knows who she is. A secure woman cannot bring herself to conform to societal norms, trends or expectations. She is unique and one of a kind and this quality intrigues people and are therefore drawn to her.
2. She Knows What She Wants and Takes Action to Get it
A secure woman is clear on the life she wants for herself. She is intentional about her decisions and makes a way to make it happen. She invests her time creating and executing tasks that bring her closer to her desired outcome. She is the first one to make plans and take accountability for her actions. Because she is so deliberate and consistent, no one can alter her vision for the life she’s creating.
3. She Doesn’t Take Things Personally
Whether it is in her personal life or on social media, she does not take things personally. A secure woman understands that other people’s words or actions are a reflection of their own reality and has no impact on who she is.
Taking things personally is emotionally and mentally draining, therefore a secure woman
releases herself of others’ opinions. When she does this she is able to reflect on her own behavior and can decide how she wants to respond, if she does so at all. All in all, she gets to decide and people have no choice but to respect her.
4. She Has Effective Communication and Listening Skills
A secure woman knows the importance of communication, this is a skill she exercises and takes great pride in. Through effective communication she can transfer information accurately and tactfully. She is able to relay her thoughts and desires and knows how to receive them.
A secure woman is able to hold a conversation in a variety of settings and across different topics. She is clear, articulate and judicious in her word choice. It is not difficult for her to get her point across and inspire deeper conversation due to her tone and social awareness.
What adds to her likeability is her willingness to listen. As women we love to talk and get our point across but a secure woman understands there is greater power in listening, observing and learning from others.
Her communication skills in business, relationships and beyond increases her confidence and makes her approachable.
5. She isn’t Afraid to Ask for Help
A confident woman is never afraid to ask for help. She thrives on help and knows when to ask for support. She does not feel less than for not “doing it all”, she is well aware that her productivity is enhanced when she has the help she needs.
This may be help from her family around the house, a housekeeper to help keep the house in tact, a nanny to help watch the kids, a coach to help you reach your life goals, a trainer to keep your body in shape.
A secure woman achieves great things and this strengthens her self-confidence.
6. She Takes Care of Her Body
A woman’s confidence starts with her self care. Her self-esteem is enhanced by eating well, hydrating and exercising. Not only does it boost her mood, energy and life span but she looks good, she feels stronger and confidently walks into any room, head high.
Her body is a valuable asset that gives her the confidence to do more, receive more and expect more.
The more she loves herself in this way, the more heads she turns.
7. Is Kind to Herself
A confident woman is kind to herself with her words and actions. She gives herself whatever she needs to feel her best. If she needs to sleep instead of work, she does it, guilt free. If she would rather stay in, watch a movie and drink tea, instead of going out on the town, she does it, unapologetically.
Of course there are moments when the confident woman feels low or like she has failed, but in those moments she is kind to herself and shows herself grace. She is compassionate and treats herself with love, kindness and gentleness.
All in all, a confident woman is a force to be reckoned with and reminds us of the power and magic a woman holds. She is a beacon of light of our pure potential and we are here for it!
