THE NUMBER ONE WAY TO EASILY START EXERCISING AND EMPOWER YOUR MINDSET
INCIDENTAL EXERCISE
Incidental exercise is the activity we get from our day to day movement like walking, or going up a flight of stairs. We usually get these exercises in small bursts throughout the day but after a while, this activity begins to accumulate and actually helps us become healthier.
THINK ABOUT IT
Can you think of activities you do throughout the day without thinking that could count as incidental exercises?
One of the best ways to get started is to notice what activity you do throughout the day. This activity is exercise, now it’s time you begin to see it as such. No matter how small, or how short the spurts are, acknowledge it as exercise and working in your favor.
NOTICE
If you notice that you do walk often, perhaps from your office to the restroom around the corner, from the parking lot to the building, from home to taking the kids to school, your brain will begin to register these incidental exercises as daily workouts.
MOTIVATION BEGINS
You will then decide to walk more often, or to repeatedly go up and down a flight of stairs. You will soon be moving your body more and will get your heart rate pumping throughout the day.
Imagine walking 3 minutes 5 times a day, that’s 15 minutes a day, multiplied by 5 is 75 minutes of activity a week!
MINDSET SHIFT
When you look at your activity as a workout, your mind and body will slowly crave a little more. Incidental exercise is a great way to get active without going out of your way to exercise. Before you know it, you might decide to go on a walk after work or during lunch, you might then decide to jump on the stationary bike once or twice a week.
Slowly but surely you are becoming more and more active and getting healthier and healthier.
As you can see, by including incidental exercise and making it one of your simple healthy habits, you can really rev up your health and workout efforts and see wonderful results.
Let me know if this is helpful and if you begin to count incidental exercise as a workout.
